some pictures of our young people handing over a cheque of £1000 to representatives from Oakfield House, on the morning of Sunday 30th October. The money was raised during the year from such events as a spring fair, sing-a-long wizard of oz and a quiz. (NB: Oakfield House opened in 1989, is located in Selly Park, Birmingham and provides residential and day services to twenty adults with autistic spectrum disorders. The project was established in partnership with the Family Housing Association (Birmingham), City of Birmingham Social Services Department and West Midlands Regional Health Authority.)

Following the karting they all stayed on at church and signed the ‘T’ Shirts made on their recent weekend away.  Following that they enjoyed a pasta tea together with a film to follow - as shown in these photos below

A Sunday School led Quiz Night held at Overend on Saturday 9th July to raise fund for their project. The amount raised was £128. The winning team was 'Mrs Luce's lot' with 202.5 points.

Judith & George Tyler both produced & hosted a 'Murder Mystery trail' around Stourbridge on Saturday 2nd July followed by afternoon tea at their house. All money raised went to church funds

On Wednesday 22nd June, as part of our Prayer Walk events, we visited the St Kenelm's church at Romsley. We had a few formal prayers at the lychgate, inside and outside the church, and in the graveyard, as well as allowing an opportunity for quiet meditation so that people could enjoy the spirituality of this holy place

 Easter Crafts for our young people



 

 

 

Easter crafts on Good Friday, 22nd April, where we had 48 children attend and they enjoyed: Easter Crafts, Puppets by Providence 'No Stings attached Group', lunch and a few Easter games

 Spring Fair



 

 

The young people of the church held their Spring Fair on Saturday 25th March in aid of their 2011 project for Oakfield House.  The amount raised was £457.50


 


 World Church Sunday


   

20th March was World Church Sunday and during our morning service we celebrated Holy Communion in the African tradition - it was led by Rev Paul Nzacahayo

 


 Young People's Sleepover



 

 

 

 

The young people of this church joined with others in the Circuit and had a sleepover at Ambelcote Methodist @ Wordsley on the 12 March.  They enjoyed chill & chat, supper, games, epilogue a late film.

 


 40s Night

on Saturday 26 February we held a 40s evening. Although food is on ration, we had a plentiful supply of dishes to select from – such as Corned Beef Hash, Toad in the Hole, Beef and Potato Pie, Woolton Pie, Fruit Crumble, Summer Pudding, Victory Pudding etc etc. The evening ended with community singing of wartime favourites.

 


 InterMission


   


our music & worship group, InterMission, led the Circuit's united service held on the evening of Sunday 13th February at Brierley Hill Methodist church

 


 Wizard of Oz sing-a-long



 

 

 
 
     


 

photos the 'Wizard of Oz' sing-a-long held Saturday 12 February - the young people are raising funds this year for Oakfield House, which provides residential and day services to twenty adults with autistic spectrum disorders. The night raised £234.00 from donations and the sale of refreshments, following the film.
