our Latest News On 20th
February at Messy Church our
theme was 'Pancakes & Lent'
We made lots of things including edible pictures, mardi
gras garlands, bon-bon temptation boxes, a giant twig cross and we
painted our clay feet from last time. We also cooked pancakes and then
ate them, obviously. Next we went into church to think about how strong
Jesus was when he tested himself in the wilderness, and how we might
test ourselves, to try to become a bit more like Jesus.
Thanks as always to our wonderful
team of helpers.
Our next Messy Church will be on
Tuesday 20 March 2012, 3.30-5.30pm. Come and join us, but remember,
it’s not called Messy Church for nothing.
Messy Church
What
is Messy Church? Messy Church is a free once-monthly
event when families come together to
enjoy being together, making things
together, eating things together and
celebrating God together. Children are
not dropped off and collected later -
this is a family event. Children come
with their parents/grandparents/carers
who stay and join in throughout.

A session will run something like
this:
3.30-4.00pm: Doors open. People
arrive, play with toys/games, have
drinks and biscuits.
4.00-4.45pm: Craft time – based on a
theme such as ‘Moses’
4.45-5.00pm: Celebration service in
church
5.00-5.30: Hot meal together
Please note: children must be
accompanied by an adult throughout.
Who is Messy Church for? The activities will be pitched at
children who are in the first few
years of primary school, but will
also appeal to pre-schoolers and
older primary school children – so
that whole families will enjoy being
part of it – older children may want
to come along and help. For lots of families Sunday is
already a busy day. Messy Church
offers another option.
When will Messy Church happen? Messy Church dates for
the Autumn Term: Tuesdays 3.30pm-5.30pm
20th September
18th October
15th November
13th December
